This weekend we shared the finishing touches we added to our entryway (you can see that post here), and today I    am excited to share Lola’s bathroom makeover with board and batten and football wallpaper. I have been working on our bathroom and Lola’s bathroom for the past several weeks and am excited to finally have one of them ready to share (and I am hoping to have our bathroom ready either this weekend or next week to share!) In both bathrooms my goal was to do a very budget friendly makeover and not a full gut-job. Lola’s bathroom is at the top of the stairs and so it’s the first thing you see as soon as you start going up the stairs and it was driving me pretty crazy. I  knew though with some simple cosmetic touches I could make it more visually appealing and also something she would like. I  kept the flooring and the vanity and we just replaced the countertop and then swapped out all the fixtures (doorknobs, drawer knobs, faucet, mirror, and light fixture) and then just some paint, inexpensive lattice board to kind of do a board and batten look and wallpaper and that completed the transformation for a fraction of what it would have cost to fully make the space over but it feels like a brand new bathroom!

Here is the before:

And here it is now (and sorry about these photos, this bathroom has no natural light and because I like to take my after photos with no lights on it made for some very grainy pics) :

Bathroom Makeover with Board and Batten

Because of my husband’s job, we never really know how long we will live somewhere, and therefore I  didn’t want to personalize this bathroom too specifically for her. I  wanted overall for the space to be able to work for any age, but then I did go ahead and add the peel and stick wallpaper that she really loved to help make it more her style. She loved this Love Vs. Design “Football Playbook” wallpaper and it was perfect with the rest of the space so I decided to go for it. I love that you can choose the colors so we went with  “Anchor” as the Background Color and “Ceramic” as the Play Sketches Color and love how it turned out! I also really like how well her bathroom works with her room which you can see here (and you can see lots more pictures of it here in this post along with all of the source info):

Swapping out one large builder grade mirror for two ones like these I think goes a long way in helping a bathroom look more custom.
