Good evening! Wow – I can’t believe we are already more than halfway through September! I have two projects to hopefully share with you this weekend – our finished Ikea dollhouses and my office closet makeover. I have our dollhouses photographed and today will share the final room – the bathrooms. And then tomorrow will share the photos of the whole dollhouse now that they are each finished! And then hopefully Sunday I will be able to share my closet makeover. It rained all day yesterday though and rain is in the forecast all day today too so it will just depend on when it is sunny enough to be able to take photos. It may not be until early next week. I got all of the dollhouse photos taken before the rain hit though so those are ready to go.

So first up  here is Lillie’s finished bathroom (and I’ll share more detailed shots of her bathroom at the end of the post):

And here is mine:

For our other rooms (you can see our kitchens here, our studies here, and our bedrooms here) I tried to make as much of the furniture as possible (in fact in the study and bedroom I made pretty much everything from scratch to keep our cost down) knowing that we would buy the furniture pieces for the bathrooms. There were some really pretty tubs I loved but just couldn’t justify the price so we ended up getting this Melissa and Doug set that came with a tub, toilet and sink and there was a half off sale going on so we got them for $15. We gave our sinks to Lola and spray painted the toilets so they were completely white. I usually am a huge fan of Melissa and Doug but have to say we weren’t that impressed with the quality on these. That being said they were by far the best price for the overall style we were looking for so I would still buy this set again in a heartbeat. Just wanted to give a little heads up though on the overall quality. And also the product photos show wooden “feet” on the tub but all the reviews showed the style tub like ours which I like much better so not sure if those are just old product photos?

For the sink area we bought this sideboard and these sinks on Etsy. I spray painted the faucets gold to match our other fixture and then I stained vanity with Early American by Minwax. I used mirrors from the same pack I bought for the Study and just built a thin frame around each one with tiny strips of Balsa wood leftover from one of the other rooms and then painted the frames black. I bought the sconce from this shop on Etsy. For the towels I just cut little pieces from that same old T-Shirt of Lola’s that we were cutting from to make sheets and pillowcases from in our bedrooms. The basket is just some balsa wood covered with twine and the jars were leftover from the pack we got for our kitchens. I filled one with oil to look like bath oil and the other with salt to look like bath salts. I pulled the cork out of the third one and used that as a vase. The bath mat is a little scrap piece leftover from the fabric we used for Lillie’s bedroom rug.

Can you see the little toilet paper holder? How cute is that? We found that on Etsy too. We got it from this shop although it looks like it is sold out. Here is another really cute one (although the one we got was only $3 so a much better price!)

I made the wallpaper by using an image of my favorite Schumacher paper and pieced it together in photoshop and then printed it out on cardstock and glued it to the wall with mod podge. Here is a similar looking download option. I also made the beadboard and flooring but I’ve linked nearly identical ones available in this Etsy shop that you can just download and print.

The pendant is just one of those plastic medicine cups we spray painted gold and then cut a hole through the top of it to feed the little wire and bulb through so we could make it a working light!

We made our little tub trays by just trimming scrap balsa wood to the right size. I stained mine with the same stain as the vanity. The bubbles came from this Etsy shop. And I made the flowers and the little book. You can get more details on the book in this post.

These little coffee cups are one of my favorite little purchases we’ve made for our dollhouses. I got them from this Etsy shop although it looks like they might be sold out? I ordered it for my little study and that is where it will end up but it was too cute not to photograph in here too!

Here it is with the lights on:

And here is Lillie’s:

All of her items are from the same places mine were except her mirror was from Hobby Lobby – it was a different color but we spray painted it. And her cat, brush and comb were all from there as well. Her wallpaper was from a craft pack of paper full of lots of different colorful papers.

I love how fun and colorful hers is and how well it goes with the rest of her dollhouse! This really was such a fun project to work on together. I think we are both legitimately sad that we are finished with them!

How cute is her little pink cup and saucer and her book?!?

That’s it for today! I’ll be back tomorrow with all of the photos of our completely finished dollhouses! Have a wonderful Friday!
