Good morning! Yesterday I shared the living room side of this space, and am now going to share the kitchen side. Although I  have bigger plans for our kitchen down the road, today I wanted to share what it looks like now after just swapping out the light fixtures and then adding all of our existing furniture and accessories. The only changes we’ve made so far were taking down the heavy window treatments, and then swapping out the light fixtures. cabinet hardware and faucet. It’s hard to tell in the photos but the cabinet doors are not in great shape at all and the trim on top does not match so down the road I  plan on removing the cabinets over the range and adding a range hood, retiling the backsplash (it’s a pretty tile and pattern, but is uneven in a bunch of spots which drives me crazy) replacing the counters, and then painting the cabinetry after I do some sanding and patching. To keep it a relatively budget friendly makeover we plan on keeping all the existing cabinetry but I’d like to extend the uppers all the way to the top so may need to get new doors for that. We will probably do it in stages though and to start with think we will just replace the counters and repaint the cabinets without making any changes to them for now. But I am still thinking through exactly what I want to do in here so for now I just swapped the light fixtures and hardware.

I  found two of these pendants at a local outlet (they also sell them online). They had a few minor scratches on them and they were in two colors (one cream one and one light blue one) but I got both of them for less then the price of one new one so I snatched them up and figured I could spray paint them. I used this spray paint and although they aren’t perfect I am really really happy with them! I  also got the pendant over the kitchen table at the same outlet for a GREAT price and am so happy with it (it’s also available online). 

Then we swapped out the faucet for this one and the cabinet knobs for these and that was it! Here’s a before:
