Good evening! I hope you all are having a lovely week. I have been plugging away working on our house these past two months and today I wanted to share with you our almost finished entryway with black doors and board and batten. It’s not quite finished yet as I plan to add wallpaper to the wall above the board and batten but other than that it’s pretty much finished.
If you missed some of the other spaces we have shared so far in this home you can find them here: Pool Area, Study/Office, Dining Room, Living Room, Lola’s Room, Lillie’s Room, Mudroom, and Laundry Room.
Here is a picture of the entryway before we moved in. I was a little disappointed there wasn’t enough wall space to have a big entryway console/chest with a large piece of artwork or mirror over it but I knew it would be fun to be able to make a statement with the doors.
And here it is now with a budget-friendly makeover that pretty must was just paint and swapping out the light fixture and doorknobs.
I’d really like to replace the front door but am holding off on that right now because I’d also like to paint the exterior of our house and so I don’t want to replace the door until we’ve got that all figured out because I’ll want to make sure it all works together. Also the white lantern blends in a bit now with the white walls but once I add the wallpaper above the board and batten it should pop a bit more.
Here’s a shot from right after we moved in from another angle:
And here is that angle now:
And this is the view from my office looking through the entryway into the dining room. I love what an impact the black doors make:
Well, that’s it for our little makeover of our entryway with black doors and board and batten. I took these pictures with some green branches cut from our yard so it didn’t look to “seasonal” for these pictures but I’ve already added some fall touches in here now and will try to share those in the next few days.
